Description

The Fondo per l'audiovisivo del Friuli-Venezia Giulia connects with independent production companies and industry professionals with the intention of providing financial assistance for training, project development and distribution for audio-visual products on the regional, national and international markets in the following genres: drama, short films, documentaries, animation.

Alongside the daily activity of financial support for local business projects, the Fondo per l’Audiovisivo organizes a range of events that are principally aimed at developing the audio-visual sector in the Region. The intention is to offer, on the other hand, new training activities and, on the other, networking opportunities with global cinema professionals.

Requirements

Development

Independent production companies with executive or operational headquarters in FVG may apply for support.
When businesses are not headquartered in FVG, all members of the development staff (with the possible exception of the producer) must be resident in FVG or all the costs relating to the development of the project must be sustained in FVG to apply.
On the date of presentation of the request, the applicant must hold, either indirectly or via option, at least 50% of the rights to the project in question.

Distribution

Independent production companies with executive or operational headquarters in FVG may apply for support.
in the case of a co-production, the co-producers must name one partner as delegate producer: that partner shall be authorised to enter into a contract with the Associazione Fondo per l'Audiovisivo del Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The delegate producer must be the majority co-producer or the co-producer resident in FVG.
The application must be presented with respect to the following deadlines: no earlier than the first day of work and no later than the first public screening, as long as this follows 1 January 2023.
If the project has previously received financing from the Fondo per lo Sviluppo FVG, application for Distribution support may be presented only after the Development accounting has been completed and that must not be included in the Distribution budget.
The project must be an independent production that includes the participation of at least one audio-visual distributor active in at least two Italian and/or foreign regions. This does not apply to short films.
At the moment of application, financing by third parties of at least 40% of the project budget must be confirmed, whether through direct financing or presales of rights, with at least a letter of intent that specifies the project title and the precise total of the financial contribution.

Training

Applications for support may be presented by:

Industry professionals resident in FVG and businesses with legal or operational headquarters in FVG. If the business has only an operational office in the region, the participant must be resident in FVG.
Individuals may apply only for scholarships. The other instruments of financial support available may be requested only by legal entities.

Payment schedule

Development and training

Up to 60% on confirmation by the Associazione with countersignature of the communication
Balance following reception of and approval by the Associazione of the accounting and final activity report

Distribution

30% on written confirmation of the start of work/beginning of production of the project;
30% following presentation to and approval by the Associazione Fondo per l’Audiovisivo del FVG of the production progress report and declaration of spending for at least 50% of the budgeted costs
40% following presentation to and approval by the Associazione Fondo per l’Audiovisivo del FVG of the first written receipt of delivery for the technical material by a distributor and following presentation to and approval of the final accounting.
