Where it was filmed 'Deep in the Wood'

Every year on 5 December, Val di Fassa ushers in winter with the Krampus festival: whilst, in Croce di Fassa, the locals parade through the town dressed as devils, following St. Nicholas as he banishes naughty children, Linda and Manuel lose their young son Tommi.
The woods in the film’s title are beautiful but cold, unsettling, isolated and dark, to the point that even the light of day only just manages to penetrate them.
We’re in Trentino, in Val di Fassa. The production team moved between Trento, Valle di Moena and Canazei; they filmed in Tamion and the surrounding area, in Sorraperra, which is a locality of Alba di Canazei, where we see the bar with its veranda; they went deep into the woods of Alba right up to the Avisio stream, and finally, they touched down in Vigo and Pera, where the Krampus parade during which Tommi disappears takes place.

Plot

During the Krampus festival, little Tommi disappears mysteriously in the woods. He is found 5 years later on a building site on the outskirts of Naples, but his parents and the town locals are suspicious and frightened by his strange behaviour.
