Where it was filmed 'The best of you'

Il meglio di te by Fabrizio Maria Cortese is about a beautiful love story, of fairy-tale years where the two halves of a couple make each other laugh and have fun together. Then suddenly everything changes: Antonio and Nicole (Vincent Riotta, Maria Grazia Cucinotta) are no longer together. She makes a new life for herself elsewhere; he lives in a large house with her mother (Giusi Merli) who, like him, has never accepted their separation. Antonio knows he has little time left to make peace with his ex-wife. The pretext is the family villa.  The couple is forced to meet and spend time in the same house for several days: time enough to air old grievances and pump new life into the flame she believed was dead. And the clear division between their lives, created two years before, begins to crumble.

The story is set in the region of Basilicata, with exterior scenes shot in Brindisi di Montagna, Satriano di Lucania, Tricarico and Maratea while the interiors are those of a private villa.

Plot
Antonio is successful, Nicole brilliant. They love each other intensely: the starring characters of, what could, banally, be termed a fairy-tale. However, their world explodes before reaching “happily ever after” and they separate; lost, angry, recriminatory and disappointed. Several years apart brings a clear separation of their lives. But destiny often has a hidden agenda that it is ready to pull out at the most suitable moment to change plans, mess up projects and to bring together those who are lost.
