The Marocche di Dro provides important information on how glaciers have shaped the local landscape. The detritus which got accumulated after a number of landslides had taken place during the Glacial Era, is now an area of rocky hills 200-250 m high. Plants and wildlife of the area are characterized by a lunar landscape and dry features. It is exactly for their uniqueness, that the Marocche have been included amongst the province's biotopes.
