Montesilvano has grown in recent years in synergy with the nearby town of Pescara. Its main industry is tourism. With its 54,000 residents it is a city with a bustling commercial scene. It looks out onto the Adriatic Sea and the services it offers for tourists make it a popular destination among holidaymakers. It may interest you to know that the father of Dean Martin, Gaetano Crocetti, was from Montesilvano.
The town is divided into Montesilvano Colle, the historical centre with the ruins of ancient medieval buildings and Montesilvano Marina, modern and populated where the offices of the municipality are situated.
