Audiovisual Producers’ Fund - Funds for internationalisation

Description

The Ministry of Culture  (MiC), in collaboration with Cinecittà and in agreement with the main trade associations, has made available funds for €519,000 for the year 2022 to support independent audiovisual producers, by facilitating participation at:

  • leading international festivals
  • markets and co-production events
  • Courses, workshops and development and training labs, plus specific professional missions on behalf of companies

This fund will disburse grants to cover 80% of the eligible costs until the budget is depleted.

Requirements

ELIGIBLE COMPANIES

  • Independent production companies with fiscal residency in Italy and possessing ATECO code 59.11. In the case of co-productions, the application must be submitted by a single company, which will be identified as the lead co-producer.

ELIGIBLE AUDIOVISUAL WORKS

  • Italian/majority Italian produced, feature-length audio-visual works – which have obtained Italian nationality prior to submitting the application and which have been selected for participation in festivals, markets or audio-visual coproduction events.  The fund also includes assistance for the costs borne by the producer for the presentation of the projects in pitch sessions – accessible by payment – during festivals and markets.
  • Prior possession of Italian nationality is not required for projects that are still in development, only with regards to participation in markets and coproduction and training events.
  • Minority Italian co-productions are not eligible.
  • With regards to participation at Festivals (audio-visual section) and Other Festivals, the relevant expenses from 70 days before the preview screening to a maximum of 70 days following are eligible.
  • With regards to participation at Markets or coproduction events or Producers workshops, training, labs, the relevant expenses from 70 days before the start of the event to a maximum of 70 days from the end are eligible.

Payment schedule

The application, complete with all the required forms, must be sent by PEC email to gfc@pec.cinecittaluce.it within 70 days from the end of the relevant Market/Event, citing the Fund in the header.

Applications may be submitted for markets occurring after publication of the fund, following the guidelines in the call.

Cinecittà S.p.A Gestione Fondi Cinema, if satisfied with examination of the paperwork, will proceed to disburse the grant following verification of the correct payment of employment tax.  Companies are obliged to complete payment of all accounted expenses within 30 days of receiving the grant, penalty the withdrawal of the grant.
