The Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale (PAN) was set up in 1961 by the Italian Air Force. Rortos’ piece was born from the desire to mix local culture into video games featuring Italian settings and, as in the case with Frecce Tricolori Flight Simulator, the use of aircraft belonging to the Italian Air Force. The game features Italian settings such as Terracina and Manerba del Garda. The developers took aerial shots of the runways and settings that they then recreated digitally.

Flight simulator
Frecce Tricolori Flight Simulator is an app designed for mobile devices and born from the partnership between Rortos, the Italian Air Force and Difesa Servizi S.p.A. The game allows users to climb into the cockpit and carry out the extraordinary manoeuvres of these famous Italian aircraft. Both Frecce Tricolori Flight Simulator and the previous endeavour of the Verona-based developer, Marina Militare – Italian Navy Sim, are closely intertwined with Italian culture.
