Where it was filmed 'Treasure of San Gennaro'

A strange trio, disguised as priests, heads to Naples which welcomes them with Vesuvius in the background. While the congregation waits for San Gennaro to grant his miracle, the three Americans are considering how to steal the treasure but they need accomplices to carry out the heist. The only person who can help them is an old friend of Jack, who has temporarily been “transferred” to the prison of Poggioreale, the exteriors are Castello di Baia in Bacoli. Don Vincenzo sends the Americans to Dudu who is found after a search through the quartieri spagnoli. Don Vincenzo’s heir apparent is sunbathing on his terrace with the drum-shaped cupola of Basilica dello Spirito Santo on via Toledo, in the background.

Convinced by his promised recompense, Dudù calls in his motley gang (one of whom, Agonia, is intercepted while driving a funeral hearse on lungomare Caracciolo) but when he find out that the heist risks offending San Gennaro he goes into the Church dei Girolamini in via Tribunali for an in-depth conversation with the saint, although the statue and treasure of San Gennaro are actually in the Duomo of Naples.

The evening of the heist, Dudù stops the car outside a building – Villa Campolieto in Ercolano (NA) – to congratulate a newly married couple. Various twists later, the treasure is finally in the hands of the gang who escapes through the Church di Santa Maria dei Miracoli. Not everything goes smoothly, and the alleyways of the historical centre provide the setting for a chase worthy of the best American police thrillers. One of the two cars is found the next day in the water of Naples Harbour.

Maggie is due to leave from Capodichino Airport, actually Ciampino, near Rome: Dudù races to get there, passing the steps of Via Carmine in Palestrina (RM). He succeeds in his intent, but eventually it is San Gennaro who triumphs, carried in procession through Belvedere di Sant'Antonio in Posillipo (Naples).
