Hwaet! The Vercelli Book Saga is an interesting example of heritage promotion and, indirectly, also of an Italian location: the heart of the narration and the main character in the game is the Vercelli Book, a parchment manuscript from the 10th century conserved in the Biblioteca Capitolare in Vercelli. The game is set almost entirely in England and France, except for a brief final moment in Vercelli (in the ancient Basilica of Sant’Eusebio, rebuilt in the 16th century but no longer in existence, having been transformed into the present-day Cathedral of Vercelli).
