Season 3 of Money Heist sees the band of thieves led by the Professor (Álvaro Morte) regroup following the capture of Rio (Miguel Herrán) to organize a raid on the gold reserves of the Bank of Spain. The theft was designed five years earlier by Berlin (Pedro Alonso) and Martín (Rodrigo de la Serna) who takes the name of Palermo for the job.
The flashbacks narrating the origins of the plan, with the return of the character Berlin, were shot in Florence with several iconic locations in the city featured in the episodes including the Duomo di Santa Maria del Fiore, piazza della Signoria and piazzale Michelangelo.
Fun fact: the new base for the Professor and his gang where they prepare the finer details of the heist is referred to as the Monastery of San Giovanni in Pratovecchio, in the countryside of Arezzo, but it is actually the 12th century Hermitage of San Frutos which is located near Segovia, in Spain.
