Where it was filmed 'Dune 2'

There is a piece of Italy in Dune 2, latest adaptation of the novel by Frank Herbert, directed by Denis Villeneuve. Scenes were shot at the Brion Tomb in the cemetery of San Vito in Altivole (Treviso). The funerary monument, which belongs to Fondo per l’ambiente italiano (FAI), was built in the 1970s by architect Carlo Scarpa for Onorina Tomasin-Brion, who commissioned it to honour her husband, Giuseppe Brion.

The film opens with a close-up of Princess Irulan Corrino (Florence Pugh) seated at a desk. Behind her are the two circles whose point of intersection symbolized the love between Onorina and Giuseppe Brion and which, in the film, refer to the strong relationship between the princess and her father, Emperor Shaddam IV (Christopher Walken).

Dune – Part Two is the sequel to the multi-award winning Dune released in 2021 (6 Oscars in 2022) and stars Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, a brilliant, talented young man destined to travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure a safe future for his family and his people. While evil forces face off in a conflict over exclusive control of the most precious resource existing on the planet – a prime material capable of unlocking humankind’s greatest potential – only those who can beat their fear will survive.

In this chapter, Paul Atreides joins Chani and the Fremen on the path for revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with having to choose between the love of his life and the destiny of the known universe, Paul undertakes a mission to prevent a terrible future that only he can foresee.

The cast includes Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem.

In addition to Italy, Dune – Part Two was shot in Budapest, Abu Dhabi and Jordan.
