With a good 8 km of golden sand and 8 harbours with 5,000 nautical berths, Lignano (UD) is a famous seashore town on the Adriatic Sea, popular with young tourists and shoppers.
Midway between Venice and Trieste, it occupies the peninsula of the mouth of the Tagliamento river, flanked by open sea and the Marano lagoon, and has three neighbourhoods: Pineta, with gardens and wide boulevards; Riviera, immersed in nature; and Sabbiadoro, the oldest residential area and town centre.
