Taormina-Giardini train station is one of the largest on the Messina-Siracusa line, positioned on an embankment overlooking the bay of Naxos. The art déco style structure was built in 1866 beneath the residential centre of Taormina (ME), near strada statale 114 and Giardini, in the hamlet of Villagonia.
The central building of the station has two towers with merlons and several arched windows and two simpler side wings, all on two storeys. The rooms have dark wood furnishings in late 19th century Sicilian style. The walls and ceilings are decorated with frescoes by Salvatore Gregorietti, who also designed the glass fronts and the wrought iron furnishings. The entrance has a projecting iron roof supported by cast iron columns with capitals.
