The Marocche di Dro (Trento) (from the Trentino word maròc or block of rock) are important evidence of glacier action on the morphology of the area. Detritus that accumulated after a series of landslides in the ice age have created rocky hills of stone, up to 200-250 m in height. An unusual feature has registered the Marocche in the biotopes of the province: the flora and fauna are conditioned by the lunar setting which has the characteristics of an arid area. A small pool has formed, the Laghisol, which has interesting lake vegetation.
