Situated across the Po River in Turin, the Piazza Gran Madre di Dio is dominated by its Neoclassical church, inaugurated in 1831, which is positioned to provide an ideal scenario at the end of via Po, beyond the immense Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The square is framed by the green of the hills behind which gives the church a special majesty. Outside the Gran Madre stands Giuseppe Gaggini’s monument in honour of Victor Emanuel I.
