The Campania Region has published its measures for implementing the operational plan for promoting film in 2018 provided for by Law No. 30/2016: ‘Film in Campania. Rules for supporting, producing, promoting and enjoying film and audiovisual culture’. The initiative is part of the three-year programme of measures for film and audiovisual activities approved in July 2017.

Audiovisual and film producers will have access to €2.25 million, divided between two categories of works. First there’s Category A, which comprises audiovisual works of a duration of more than 52 minutes (films for cinema or TV in a maximum of two parts), for which €1,497,500 will be allocated. Then there’s Category B, or rather audiovisual works of a duration of 52 minutes or less (including series, fictional works, animated works, or documentaries made on any support and using any technique, including works made for the Internet), for which €652,500 will be allocated.

The remaining €100,000 will be part of a Hospitality Fund for televised (non-fictional) works managed by the Campania Region Film Commission.

The Region is also making €1.25 million available in grants for activities promoting and spreading film culture, divided up as follows: €937,500 for film and audiovisual festivals, €312,500 for film and audiovisual events and awards, and €200,000 for the activities of film culture associations, film societies and film studios.

Potential applicants will have 45 days from when the call for applications and relevant forms are published to submit their applications.
