Settimana della Critica selects Milad Tangshir’s Turin-based 'Anywhere Anytime'

The Settimana Internazionale della Critica (SIC), the autonomous and parallel section organized by the National Film Critics Union (SNCCI) at the Venice International Film Festival has announced the lineup selection for the 81st edition (28 August - 7 September 2024).  The programme comprises seven first works in competition and three special events, all world premieres.

Milad Tangshir’s Anywhere Anytime will represent Italy with a story about Issa, a young illegal immigrant who tries to survive in Turin as best he can. After he loses his job, a friends helps him to start working as a rider. But this new equilibrium collapses when his newly purchased bicycle is stolen during a delivery. Issa embarks on a desperate odyssey through the streets of the city to find his bike.

The cast includes Ibrahima Sambou, Moussa Dicko Diango, Success Edemakhiota.

Written by the director himself with the Turin-born Daniele Gaglianone and Andrea Giaime Alonge, the feature film shot in the Piedmont capital for 5 weeks in summer 2023 with an almost almost entirely local crew. Professionals and workers included assistant director Lorenzo De Nicola, organizer Danilo Goglio, set designer Leonie Heys Cerchio, costume designer Silvia Nebiolo, live sound engineer Roberto Gambotto Remorino, casting directors Luana Velliscig and Laura Leonardi, editor Enrico Giovannone and Fabrizio Nastasi's Imago VFX (for postproduction, rushes management, VFX, color, finalization).

The film was produced by Vivo Film, Young Films, Rai Cinema, with contributions from the Ministry of Culture and the "Piemonte Film TV Fund" call and with the support of the Film Commission Torino Piemonte.
