Description

The main objective of the Valle d'Aosta Film Fund, which was set up in 2012 by the Film Commission Vallée d’Aoste Foundation, is to promote and add value to the cultural, landscape, tourist, rural and historical heritage and traditions of Valle d’Aosta through the support for the production of films, audiovisual and multimedia works. To this end it provides incentives for making national and international film, television, audiovisual and multimedia productions in the region, contributes to the training of local professionals, and stimulates and support jobs and professionalism in Valle d’Aosta.

The Fund is divided into 3 lines of action:

  • Support for the audiovisual production:
  • Support for the development of audiovisual production's projects;
  • Support for the production of audiovisual works of particular artistic and economic relevance.

Special attention will be paid to projects submitted by local businesses, to debut and second works and to documentaries.

Through the Audiovisual Development Support Fund, the Film Commission Vallée d’Aoste promotes the development of productions that:

  • have a national and/or international profile and develop themes linked to the territory of the region of Valle d’Aosta and/or promote the cultural heritage and regional landscape;
  • support the linguistic diversity present in the Region, through the use of the relevant languages;
  • support employment and local professionals, creating significant impact in the Region.

Maximum contribution

  • Cinema works over 52 minutes: €20,000
  • Cinema works of 52 minutes or less: €10,000
  • TV works over 52 minutes (single) or episodes of 26 minutes (TV series): €20,000
  • Web productions of at least two episodes of min. 13 minutes each: €5,000

Maximum quota on cost

50%

The limits for international co-productions are calculated according to the quota attributed to those submitting the application.

  • Non-repayable grants

Requirements

  • Production start date must be given
  • Minimum spend in the territory:

    150%. 

    Expenses are considered to have been made in Valle d’Aosta when they are received by entities that have been operative in the region for at least 6 months from the publication date of the call for applications or have their fiscal domicile or residence in the region.

Payment schedule

The Fondazione will disburse the contribution as follows:

  • possible advance payment of 60% (maximum) on submission of the declaration of commencement of principal photography;
  • the remainder once photography has wrapped on submission of the accounting documentation.

Notes

The project must be completed within 18 months of the start date sent to the Foundation (An extension of 6 months may be requested, giving justification).
