Description

The Piemonte Doc Film Fund focusses on supporting documentaries (no shorter than 50 minutes in length):

  1. created by production structures in Piedmont with stories and themes related to the region, to other territories in Italy or abroad.
  2. featuring stories and themes related directly to Piedmont that are being produced by Italian, or foreign (from both inside and outside the European Union) production structures. Foreign production companies are required to identify a company based in Piedmont as co-producer or executive producer.

The call is held annually with two deadlines for submitting projects by.

One funding application may be submitted for each category.

Applicants may request development and production support for the same documentary project more than once.

Requirements

  • Production start date must be given
  • Minimum spend in the territory:

    120% of the support received

Applicants must hold, either directly or through an option contract, at least 50% of the rights to the project submitted (30% for international co-productions).

Payment schedule

The grant will be paid by the Turin Piedmont Film Commission in two instalments:

  • a deposit of 70% upon submitting the notice that work has begun;
  • the remaining 30% upon completion of the project, upon submitting accounting documentation and the final material provided for at each stage of production.

Dependent on the availability of funds.

Notes

The project must be made according to the following schedule:

Development

  • Start: the notice that work has begun must be sent within 3 months of the publication of the list of projects awarded funding.
  • Conclusion: within 12 months of the notice date.

Production

  • Start: the notice that work has begun must be sent within 3 months of the publication of the list of projects awarded funding.
  • Conclusion: within 20 months of the notice date.

One single extension of the above-indicated deadline to complete work may be requested, giving justification.
