The game experience was created to promote a specific location, the Archaeological Park of Venosa, in the province of Potenza. Once the free app is downloaded, the augmented reality experience takes place at the site. The route passes an interesting example of public bath structure, whose architecture and hydraulic engineering are visible (the suspensurae, articulated system of underfloor heating is easily identified). The visitor sees an impluvium, the heart of the noble ancient Roman home, and finds themselves in front of a Paleo-Christian baptistery. As the official site informs, “the visitor points a smartphone at the individual panels and is guided in exploring these locations by an exceptional companion: Robert Guiscard (the famous Norman soldier who lived from 1015-1085). Along the route, the user meets historical characters, acquiring cultural information that serves to collect specific stones scattered around the park and return them to their true setting, in the walls of L’Incompiuta, the building complex on the edge of the archaeological park, that was never completed”. L’Incompiuta, one of the most evocative points in the archaeological site, is the unfinished extension to the Santissima Trinità that Robert Guiscard wanted for the Mausoleum of the Hauteville Family. This archaeological site is particularly evocative because it includes traces of a history that stretches from the Roman era to the Middle Ages, recounted through the hundreds of inscriptions scattered around the location. The game was created to stimulate the discovery and exploration of the site. However, many of the artefacts cited are conserved at the National Archaeological Museum of Venosa, located inside the Pirro del Balzo Castle. This addition thus encourages the exploration of a tourist itinerary that also accompanies the user outside the site.

Augmented reality videogame created and produced by effenove s.r.l.s. with support from the Cultura Crea grant promoted by MiBAC in collaboration with Silvio Giordano, Pixel srl, Jetbit Digital Agency and the Museum Hub of Basilicata; with the patronage of the Lucana Film Commission, the Municipality of Venosa and APT Basilicata (agency for the promotion of tourism in the region), and sponsorship from BCC Basilicata. The game intends to promote the Archaeological Park of Venosa and is usable mostly in that location. The player uses a smartphone to unlock scenarios, characters and mysteries: the images of the game, activated by 6 information panels, then “merge” with those in real life, in the context of the archaeological site.
