The splendid beech forest of Oriolo Romano (VT) is part of the Parco naturale regionale di Bracciano-Martignano. In 2017, it was inscribed as a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site as one of the “Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe” along with others in Italy.
With 73 hectares covered with trees that are several centuries-old, the forest spreads out in Monte Raschio, a volcanic elevation near Lake Bracciano in Upper Lazio, at the heart of the Tuscia region.
