The deadline for funding applications in the second session of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Fund, managed by FVG Film Commission with three annual appointments (February, June, September) is 30 June.
The Fund finances audiovisual productions shooting in Friuli Venezia Giulia in order to boost employment, develop the regional and tourist economies, showcase and promote the Region’s cultural, natural and environmental attributes, including through the pickup of ecofriendly protocols, and encourage the use of specialized artistic and technical professional resources working in the region.
The regulation, completely overhauled in 2023, gives priority to spending in the territory. The total of accounted costs must be equal (at least) to the contribution granted: a 15% difference in expenses borne in FVG compared to estimated spend is allowed. A difference beyond this threshold will see the grant recalculated by percentage to reflect the overage up to a maximum of 30%. The grant will be revoked in cases of differences of 30% and over.
The entity of the grant depends on the type of work and the points obtained: series (fiction or documentary) and works of fiction can obtain up to 30% of the estimated expenses in FVG for a maximum of €300k; while documentaries and short films are eligible for up to 35% of the estimated expenses in FVG for a maximum of €30k. A lower points total reduces the percentages applied to expenses and maximum grant levels.
The third session of the Fund will close on 30 September.
