Altrimenti ci arrabbiamo pays homage to the cult film Watch Out, We're Mad (1974) which starred Bud Spencer and Terence Hill. The reboot has inherited Francesco Cerasi’s original soundtrack with the chorus and Oliver Onion’s famous song Dune Buggy, here reinterpreted by Federico Zampaglione, and the Western setting, dusty roads, wide open spaces and fields where rallies take place and motorcyclists and caravans gather.
At the heart of the story is the famous red Dune Buggy with its yellow roof and a property owned by a community of circus performers near Ladispoli, on the Lazio coast, near the palude of Torre Flavia. The production shot with a real circus company: Circo Errani di Fagiolino. Carezza (Edoardo Pesce), Sorriso (Alessandro Roia) and the circus performers, guided by the energetic, dangerous Miriam (Alessandra Mastronardi), have a common enemy, Torsillo (Christian De Sica), a greedy land developer, who deploys his son and his thugs and will stop at nothing to seize the land and the brothers’ car. Scenes were also shot in Torvaianica (Pomezia) in via Campo Selva and a private villa which served as Torsillo’s luxurious residence.
