Black out – Vie Sospese is a mystery series, co-produced by Italy and Germany, ideally situated in Trentino, among the snow-capped peaks of the Dolomites that are inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Filming took place mainly in the Primiero and Vanoi valleys, at the foot of Pale di San Martino, plus a few weeks inRome and Naples.
The narrative begins on Christmas Eve, when an avalanche isolates the small mountain town of Valdena – actually Caoria in Canal San Bovo – from the rest of the world.
This affects not only the town residents, but also the guests of a luxurious hotel whose location was provided by 19th-century Villa Welsperg in Val Canali, headquarters of the Parco Naturale Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino.
The characters (played by Alessandro Preziosi, Aurora Ruffino, Marco Rossetti, Rike Schmid, Caterina Shulha, Mickaël Lumière) have to safeguard their own survival and also deal with the mysteries and secrets, at first unthinkable, that surround the event and with those gathered in the town.
The snowy setting of the story stretches from Losi di Caoria to the Calàita and Noana lakes, from Val Venegia to Passo Rolle, from Val Canali to San Martino di Castrozza, captured for the occasion in 6K format, with the addition of key VFX and digital effects.
