The geographical conformation of Val di Non has provided it with a wealth of fascinating hidden places, including deep gorges and canyons nestled between the rocks.
Unusually, one of its most atmospheric canyons, Rio Sass cuts through the municipality of Fondo (Trento): pedestrians on the main street are able to grasp its depth. A path of walkways and ladders leads to a landscape of ancient, bright rocks which offer a viewpoint of a ferruginous spring, a spa and a dam from the 1700s made with tree trunks. In addition, it is possible to admire the local flora: mosses, ferns and red algae.
The Novella Fluvial Park canyon, which follows the stream of that name from Romallo to Cloz, is also interesting, its route is equipped with walkways. The stream ends in lake Santa Giustina, making the canyon accessible from here in canoe or kayak.
