Boccasette beach is situated in the Veneto Regional Park at the tip of the great Po Delta near Porto Tolle (Rovigo). It is a long strip of sand that overlooks the Adriatic Sea, a bona-fide sandbar linked to land by a bridge.
It is a pristine, unchanged environment with simple wooden buildings to offer basic services for bathers. The beach is reached by a short tarmac road that leads from the small residential centre of Boccasette through kilometres of farmed land reclaimed from the sea by great landworks on the banks of the Maistra Po, the smaller of the watercourses that make up the great river.
The wild landscape features fishing valleys with long reedbeds and golden sand dunes created by the wind in ever changing shapes. The beach has simple buildings for bathers that respect the natural environment. The red heron and buzzard can be seen here.
