Dervio is a municipality in the province of Lecco which extends along the eastern shore of Lake Como.
The peninsula of Dervio is divided by the Varrone Stream, which gave its name to the valley. Dervio profits from its vicinity to Mount Legnoncino (1,714m) and Mount Legnone (2,610m), the peak of the Bergamasque Alps and highest point in the province of Lecco.
The lakeside landscape provides natural bays, moorings for boats and a neoclassical harbour designed and built by the architect Luigi Cagnola.
The Castle of Corenno Plinio, a medieval defensive structure, and the remains of ancient Castelvedro, a medieval fortification situated in the Mai area, are both worthy of note.
