The Church of St. Michael Archangel in Besate (MI) is an important 17th century building, built to replace the previous church deemed by Cardinal Federico Borromeo on a pastoral visit to be in a terrible state.
The façade, like the rest of the structure, is of brick. The church conserves a copy of a Madonna with Child attributed to the painter Marco d’Oggiono, a student of Leonardo da Vinci (the original is now in the Diocesan Museum of Milan) and an 18th century painting of St. Andrew embracing the Cross by Sebastiano Conca.
