The Solzenicyn garden in Trento, ex- Santa Chiara park, stands in an area vacated by a hospital in the early 1970s. It was restructured in 1997 to a design by Berlin architect Regina Poli.
The terracing in the northern end, marked by a variety of perennial and three hedges of box, yew and privet, is impressive. On the top level, a pergola with clematis covers a walkway decorated with six pink limestone fountains and benches and bordered with a pebble dashed wall. A singular fountain with monolithic figure faces the semi-circular stair leading to the centro servizi Santa Chiara and a classical column on the grass. A cement colonnade marks the surfaced path.
