The Società Canottieri Lecco was founded on 27 September 1895 in the Caffè del Teatro Sociale “with the aim of contributing to the development of rowing for the promotion of health”; thanks to a love of sport and philanthropy shared by 28 citizens of Lecco who held the roles of members, presidents and advisors, the Canottieri is one of the oldest sporting clubs in Italy.
