Where it was filmed 'Mi name is Vendetta'

In Cosimo Gomez’s action movie, Sofia (Ginevra Francesconi) is a teenager like any other with a passion for hockey.

The opening scenes show the key moments in a match she is playing at the Dobbiaco palaghiaccio (Bolzano).

Sofia and her family live in Alto Adige, in a country house set in the uncontaminated nature of Val Pusteria, where locations included Valdaora and Villabassa. Scenes were also shot in Regole di Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno), in the Veneto region.

When Sofia tragically discovers that her father Santo (Alessandro Gassmann) is hiding a dark past as a ‘ndranghetahitman, she is forced to go on the run with him to evade the vengeance of Don Angelo (Remo Girone). For a short while, father and daughter hide out in an abandoned building: the late Romantic spa station of Bagni di San Candido, in Alta Val Pusteria, which was destroyed in WWI and never rebuilt.

A high stakes escape takes them to Milan where Sofia and Santo move unnoticed through the streets of the city’s north-eastern neighbourhoods: Quarto Oggiaro and Bovisa. Their plan involves kidnapping Don Angelo’s son, breaking into his company located in Milan’s City Life where Sofia will carry out her personal revenge.

Plot
After years of living in the shadows, in a quiet village in Trentino-Alto Adige, the lives of Santo, a former assassin for the ‘ndrangheta, and his adolescent daughter Sofia, a hockey champion, are completely upended. Criminals break into their home and brutally execute Sofia’s mother and aunt, reigniting a vendetta that has lain silent for almost twenty years. Sofia discover the truth that has always been kept from her, Santo’s dark secret: his past as a hitman for the 'ndrangheta crime organization. While conflicted, she nonetheless accepts this heritage of anger and violence and stands by her father’s side, ready to take ruthless revenge.
