The film is set and was filmed mostly in the back streets of Marcianise and other municipalities in the province of Caserta. The encounter between Michele and his old girlfriend Luisella takes place on Licola beach, on the Phlegraean Coast (NA). Part of the story is set abroad, mainly in Germany, where Michele is forced to go to prevent himself from being indoctrinated into the criminal logic of his hometown.

Michele is growing up in Marcianise, where it is the Camorra that lays down the law as opposed to the State. Boxing gives him the courage to go against the system and saves him from suffering the same fate as so many of his peers.
