“I love this contradictory land where misery coexists with a nobility of soul, and with some of the most beautiful landscapes and works of art in the world – explained the Neapolitan director Sergio Assisi – A revived Campania Felix, always fertile with talent and artistic ferment. The island of Ischia is the priceless setting for a sunny, light-hearted comedy. Pure entertainment, not as an end in itself, but as the representation of that vital Italian spirit of the senses that appreciates art, culture, good food, fashion, holidays, sun, language, love, history and beauty".

Sasà is a decadent nobleman, the illegitimate son of Baron Belladonna. Born and raised on the island of Ischia, he boasts of being its King; his palace the suite of a historic hotel founded by his father. With his sweet eyes and cheeky expression, Sasà seduces everyone in his idiosyncratic way and from “his office”, a bar table in the small square, he provides imaginative advice for “donations”. Unrepentant womanizer, inveterate liar, penniless Sasà is a master of improvisation endowed with an irresistible charm and a Shakespearean dialectic that always manages to turn situations in his favour. He is the centre of a numerous cast: his faithful wingman and companion in adventure who rents his rowboat for tourists; his eccentric lawyer; the girlfriend who wants to marry him at any cost, pushed by a determined mother; the hotel manager who just can't stand him; an unconventional parish priest; and an aunt who wants to take everything. Until true love suddenly destabilizes his kingdom.
