The Bolzano Municipal Theatre is located in piazza Giuseppe Verdi. It houses the main theatre institutions of Alto Adige: the Teatro Stabile of Bolzano and the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen.
Designed by Marco Zanuso and inaugurated on 9 September 1999 by Sergio Mattarella, then Deputy Prime Minister, it is a multifunctional theatre conceived and built to accommodate shows and performances of various kinds: opera, prose, dance, musicals, conferences, film screenings.
Its main spaces are the sala grande, the teatro studio, foyers, rehearsal room, dance room, gym.
