Once isolated and surrounded by an elegant estate decorated with statues, now encircled by the village of Villazzano (Trento), Villa de Mersi originated in the Middle Ages. It was built in the early half of the 13th century over the remains of an ancient farmhouse destroyed in a fire. Modifications in the Renaissance era gave it a typical tower. After long restoration work, Villa de Mersi is once again one of the most beautiful villas in Trentino, thanks in part to its splendid garden. The lawns, garden, courtyard, and fruit orchards are a prestigious natural surrounding for the Villa de Mersi estate.
