Description

Inaugurated in 1940 as the “Mostra Triennale delle Terre Italiane d’Oltremare”, it is known today as the Mostra d’Oltremare and plays host to numerous activities as an exhibition complex, conference centre, performance space and area for art displays, to name just a few.

This Fascist-era colonial exhibition is located in the neighbourhood of Fuorigrotta in Naples and covers a surface area of 720,000m2 with buildings of historical and architectural interest and more recent exhibition pavilions, fountains (including the huge Fontana dell’Esedra), a tropical aquarium, gardens with a wide range of tree species and an archaeological area.

The most imposing of the buildings are the Palacongressi, with 9 conference halls, and the Cubo d’Oro, an exhibition space which has hosted various sessions of Comicon, a festival with an international following.
