Fire station inside the mountain – Magrè

Description

Magrè has a fire station inside the mountain: a necessary solution given the scarcity of building areas in mountain regions and established when the old warehouse in the centre of town became too small in 2010.
Three parallel tunnels were dug into the rock, a few meters distance from each other. Two are used as garages for emergency vehicles, while the third houses the control centre, training spaces, rest rooms and changing rooms. Smaller tunnels interconnect the main caverns.
The futuristic cave that opens at the foot of the sheer rock wall is a truly unique film location.
