The Piana del Dragone is a plain of about 1,100 hectares on the southern edge of Volturara Irpina (AV) at an altitude of 685m. During the winter months, the lower part of the plain tends to collect rain water from the surrounding mountains, which forms a basin of water known incorrectly as Lake Dragone.
