The Abbey of San Vincenzo al Volturno is located in the territory that stretches from Castel San Vincenzo to Rocchetta a Volturno (IS) in the Alta Valle del Volturno.
The heart of the complex is the so-called new abbey, which has a longitudinal, rectangular layout with an atrium and 3 naves divided into two aisles of 12 columns, with ribbed cross vaults. The Romanesque tiered facade divided by buttresses, has a round-arched main portal and is flanked by a bell tower with a large central oculus on high.
The monastery was built inside fortified walls whose ruins are still visible along with those of a defence tower on the south east. Inside it is divided into different areas used for the various types of life that make up the life of the cloistered nuns who live here.
The complex is in open territory, offering wide shooting angles, isolated from urban and residential areas.
