Inside the Archaeological park of Larino (CB), which includes the Roman Amphitheatre and thermal baths, is a villa that belonged to Filomeno Zappone, a local luminary and lawyer born in Montorio dei Frentani (CB) in 1839.
Designed by the engineer Enrico Vetta and completed in 1900, the Art Deco villa has a stable which bears witness to a important moment in the development of the society of the future Molise. Photographs from the late 19th to early 20th centuries demonstrate that the wealthiest members of society at the time were inspired in their dress and habits by the opulence of the Belle Époque. At the same time, however, they also maintained a strong bond with the territory and continued to directly manage agricultural activity, often visiting their places of origin. The stables today conserve a splendid wooden wardrobe used to keep saddles. There is also a perfectly preserved sewer system that probably fed the waters of the nearby thermal bath complex.
