The Mausoleum of Ummidia Quadratilla is a tomb in the archaeological area of Cassino (province of Frosinone). The imposing structure is positioned on the south-eastern slopes of Montecassino, incorporated into the walls of the ancient city of Casinum.
It was built in the 1st-2nd centuries BCE. An inscription was found in 1757: Ummidia Quadratilla, daughter of Caius, built the amphitheatre and temple for the people of Casinum at her expense. The patrician tomb, therefore, belongs to the benefactor Ummidia Quadratilla, daughter of the Consul Ummidio Durmio Quadrato.
Built in large square blocks, perfectly interlocking without cement, held together only by internal lead brackets, the Mausoleum has stood the test of time, earthquakes and war without notable damage.
