The Gordiani mausoleum is a two-storey funeral building, circular in shape, made from brick, 18m high with a diameter of 19m. The upper floor, intended for funeral rites, has conserved some of the original cupola roof and features seven rectangular and semi-circular niches which would have held statues, while a larger central one was framed by two columns and a pediment.
Located in the green of Villa dei Gordiani on via Prenestina in Rome, the imperial stamps on the bricks are from the rule of Diocletian (IV century C.E.), dating it to that time or later. The remains of a circular Basilica can be found close by.
