The trabucco or trabocco is an old fishing apparatus typically used on the Adriatic coast. It has a wooden structure consisting of a platform that juts out over the sea, anchored to the rocks by thick Aleppo pine tree trunks, which support two (or more) long arms, known as antennae, which extend a few metres over the water and hold an enormous small-meshed net known as a trabochetto. Similar contraptions can also be found in the municipalities of Civitanova Marche, Falconara Marittima, Fano, Pesaro and Gabicce.
