The farming terraces in the Val di Gresta in southern Trentino are located in the municipality of Ronzo-Chienis. Val di Gresta is unlike other valleys in Trentino because it is composed of mountain crests which have created plateaus where inhabited settlements have developed.
The rural landscape on the terraces changes continuously, with vineyards in the valley floor and foothills, then radicchio and leafy vegetables, potatoes and, further up, carrots and cabbage.
Val di Gresta is located in the basin of lake Loppio, in the Parco del Monte Baldo. It is crossed by the river Gresta.
