Description

The aims of this call are to promote the region, to increase the visibility of its natural and artistic resources, to develop local tourism and to raise awareness of the historical, cultural, religious, economic, social heritage of Calabria along with its anthropological practices and traditions.

The following type of work are eligible:

film/feature-length films: audiovisual works intended for theatrical release before other distribution, no shorter than 75 minutes in length, animation included;
TV drama: audiovisual works made for distribution on linear and non-linear TV networks, the individual work should be no shorter than 52 minutes;
short films: audiovisual works between 15 and 30 minutes in length, various types (documentary, music, animation).

The total funding amount, €4,850,000, is divided up as follows:

Category A
- for films/feature films and television dramas € 2.000.000
Category B
- for films/feature films and television dramas € 2.700.000
- for short films € 150.000.

Requirements

Minimum working days on the territory:
Category A: 3 weeks
Category B: 2 weeks for feature film and tv drama; 1 week for short films.

The recipients of the grant must be individual producers, i.e. the owners of 100% of the rights to the work or, alternatively, coproducers or associate producers, i.e. owners to a quota of the rights to the work.

Payment schedule

Calabria Film Commission will disburse the grant as follows:

advance: upon written request, equal to 50% of the grant, on signature of the Convention and presentation of the appropriate bank guarantee;
final payment of the remaining 50%, or the entire amount of the grant, on delivery of the required paperwork.
