Description

The MiBACT-FFA agreement aims to support cooperation between Italian and German producers by supporting the co-development of projects to make high-quality feature films capable of pulling audiences in each of the respective countries and the rest of the world.

Requirements

Works must involve at least one Italian producer and one German producer.

The direct contribution of producers must represent at least 20% of the development costs.

The respective contributions of each country may vary between 20% and 80%.

Both producers, at the end of the development stage, must submit a detailed production plan, supported by documentation proving contacts with any funding or distribution partners or broadcasters, as well as the final version of the screenplay.

Payment schedule

The grant will be paid in two instalments:

  • 60% upon signing the financing agreement;
  • the remaining 40% upon submitting a detailed breakdown of contributions, the final version of the screenplay, proof of development expenses, the financial plan and the co-production contract.

Notes

Principal photography must begin within two years of the first grant payment.
