Carlo Mazzacurati’s film is based on the real-life theft of the relic of Saint Anthony of Padua’s jaw bone in 1991. The events that lead the protagonists, Willy and Antonio, to become thieves almost by accident, are set above all in the city of Padua, in the porticos of via Vittorio Emanuele and via Oberdan, the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua in piazza del Santo, and piazzetta delle Garzerie.
Some filming also took place in the Venetian Lagoon, near Marghera Port, and in the gardens of the elegant Villa Trento Carli in Costozza, a district of the municipality of Longare in the province of Vicenza.
