Martino lives in Cosenza with his father, a well-known psychologist who wants his son to follow in his footsteps, and has enrolled for psychology without ever attending any of the lectures. Only once do we see him outside the University of Calabria in Arcavacata di Rende (CS).
At university he prefers turtles, with which he spends his time in the marine reserve of Capo Rizzuto Island (KR).
His interest in psychology grows when he discovers that the girl he is in love with, Ilaria, is being taken care of by her father. He devises an articulate strategy for getting to know her and the pair fall in love. We see them walking in the woods along the Sila Riva and near the dam on Lake Arvo, located between Mount Melillo and Mount Cardoneto, near the municipality of San Giovanni in Fiore (CS). Here lies the lighthouse where the two youngsters make love.
