A journey in discovery of the eccentric character of Roberto Cimetta takes French journalist Anna to Italy. Through an encounter between the woman and Cimetta’s son, along with a number of flashbacks, the film accompanies the viewer through the landscapes of the Marches and Trentino, to bring pieces of the artists past to light.
Lots of the scenes are set in the city of Ancona, starting with the port and ending up in the City Museum and Piazza del Plebiscito. Although filming stayed in the province of Ancona, it reached to the neighbouring municipalities of Offagna, deemed one of the most beautiful towns in Italy and instantly recognisable from its ancient Rocca di Offagna, and Polverigi, where the production team used Villa Nappi as a location, home to the Inteatro Festival, the international contemporary theatre festival of the Marches.
The production team then moved to Trentino, where the son of the artist moved to follow in the footsteps of his father, dedicating his life to art. Featured locations include Folgaria in the heart of the Cimbra Alps, Rovereto, Villa Lagarina and Valsugana.
