On the Cilento coast, in the Parco Nazionale del Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni, an oasis of luxuriant vegetation extends overlooking the sea, Punta Licosa. It is located in the Southern part of the municipality of Castellabate (SA), between the hamlets of San Marco and Ogliastro Marina. Its name is linked to the legend of Leucosia: having failed to seduce Ulysses and his sailors with their songs, the sirens Partenope, Leucosia and Ligea threw themselves into the sea, later the body of Leucosia washed up on the promontory that has her name and features.
